Why Women’s Networks Are So Important in the Medical Field, this was the focus of the recent spring meeting of Healthcare Women e.V. (HCF) – and it is particularly relevant today, on Women’s Networking Day (initiated by the HCF). The day aims to raise awareness about the vital role of networking in improving opportunities for women. We’ve gathered thematic quotes from HCF members and from within our own organization: ➡️ “Targeted networking is extremely helpful in many areas to advance projects, ideas, and changes. When it comes to HCF networking, it ultimately always aims at optimizing patient care. That’s why I am a committed Healthcare Woman,” says Silke Sittner, Founder and Managing Director of NiSiPharm GmbH. ➡️ “Our female network shows: We are many. We are so many that we are brave enough to use our power, because that is the lever for changes that the system urgently needs,” says Jutta Kristen, Chairwoman of HCF, addressing the lack of leadership structures that allow for diversity. ➡️ “The healthcare sector is a perverse industry: 80 percent of employees are women, but decisions are almost exclusively made by men,” says Sascha Platen, Investor, Consultant, and Head of Healthcare at Concat AG, highlighting the gender imbalance in the industry. ➡️ “Using networks is like using ChatGPT: you have to clearly articulate what you need in order to get what you hope for,” says Henriette Schnabl, Chief Sales Officer of the patient organization yeswecan!cer, about successful networking. ➡️ “Female role models, mentoring, and coaching,” says Tessa Forsblad, owner of Forsblad Visions, consultant, coach, and FidAR member, on what helps women reach top positions in medicine.
